When I first met Lashon Thomas, I did not completely understand the value and impact a life coach would have in my life. After carrying pain, hurt, anger and resentment in my heart for many years, I learned to just hide and live with it. Lashon taught me that not only was it ok to feel the emotions I did at that time but it was also ok to let go of the pain I was carrying around. Forgiveness was a huge challenge for me but through my sessions, she taught me that forgiveness was not letting others off the hook; it was letting myself off the hook. I gained peace and, at the same time, strength by letting go of what was already done. I could not hold others accountable but I was in complete control of what I would continue to allow in my life. How others treat me or act toward me does not reflect who I am as a person. Good or bad, right or wrong, I choose to treat others as I would like to be treated. I forgave many people I had chosen not to speak with for many years. I can't express how great it feels to be here. My soul feels lighter, and I truly wake up in a better spirit. My sessions have also helped me with my battle with depression; letting go of things out of my control was truly the best thing I have done for myself. My son recently went off to College and as a parent you naturally worry about thier safety and well being while away from home. He also recently got his driver's license and was out late one night. I mentioned to Lashon that I'm sleeping with one eye open and asked her how does she do it as she also has college age children. She simply said, she prays and puts her angels to work and goes back to sleep. Her saying that reminded me of my own spiritual faith to trust God in all things including the safety of our children.

LaShon's coaching has influenced my personal growth. Throughout some of my personal challenges, she has given unbiased, empathetic, and focused-driven advice. She's coached me through challenges in different relationships, such as family, friends, and career. I know I'm walking away with a more clear scope, a plan, a purpose, and a prayer warrior on my side. Personally, she has helped me manage relationships and the weight I tend to carry for others that I do not need to. I recognize the value of each relationship and find a healthy balance with them in my life. She listened to the dynamics of the relationship with no judgement. She questioned and led the conversation to a place where she had understanding and I was able to see parts of the relationship that she played parts in or needed to completely relinquish being apart of. She had advice on how to do it, provided support for me to follow through and followed up with me. To be completely honest, some of my friends don't even do that last part of following up. It creates accountability and is a reminder. LaShon's coaching is enjoyable. lhave been able to use her coaching as a means of maintaining balance in my life's relationships. I have known LaShon my whole life. She has always been easy to talk to and very caring. She could not be feeling well and still be there for you and you wouldn't even know it. She is one of the strongest women I know. I know that | can always go to her for guidance; she is trustworthy and honest. If I don't check in, she's checking on me. I remember there was a time that I was down and out but kept it to myself and she knew. She checked on me and noticed I wasn't myself. She sent me a book; it was the memoir of Viola Davis.
